New Zealand Coal and Carbon is the country's largest privately-owned coal mining and export company.

Its West Coast mining operations - Echo, Roa and New Creek - are operated by its three subsidiaries: ROA Mining, Francis Mining and New Creek Mining.

The company says it has coal resources to last more than 100 years.
