Talley’s Group is a family owned-operated business, and a large coal user at its various meat processing plants, dairy factories and vegetable plants.

In late 2016, Talley's formed the BT Mining venture with Bathurst Resource to purchase Solid Energy's Stockton, Maramarua and Rotowaro coal mines.
