Kai Point Coal is a privately owned mining company that owns and operates the Kai Point opencast coal mine in Kaitangata, Otago.

The mine has been in operation since 1958, largely serving local industrial markets including the meat, dairying and timber sectors.

Kai Point also owns a subsidiary company in Dunedin that deals with coal distribution to industrial clients.
